Grant Guidelines
Guidelines for Students Applying for Grants from the
Department of English, Theatre & Speech Communication
The Department of English, Theatre & Speech Communication has several funds that can be used to support student-initiated travel to and/or participation in off-campus:
- conferences
- workshops
- readings
- lectures
- internships or independent studies
- team-initiated studies
- domestic or international study
Students applying for grants should complete the application on the following page.
Applications will be reviewed by a committee of faculty in the Department. Preference will be given to applicants who are: majoring in English, Theatre or Speech Communication; who have not previously received funding from the Department; and who will be returning to the College for at least one semester.
Applications should be submitted electronically to Verlaine McDonald, Department Chairperson. A response can be expected within two weeks after submission of the application.
Students receiving grants from the Department of English, Theatre & Speech Communication should submit a brief report within two weeks of the completion of the event or program. It should be submitted electronically to Verlaine McDonald.
