Biography

Mike Morris, a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, has been working hard for Berea College since 1994 starting with the Department of Public Safety. In November of 2001, Mike transferred from Public Safety and assumed the responsibilities of OSHA Manager for the college. Mike received his BS in Arson Investigation in 1984 and BS in Loss Prevention and Safety in 1985 in 1993 he received his Masters Degree in Loss Prevention and Safety in 1993. Mike’s current duties include; employee and student safety training for OSHA compliance, Accident investigations and development of workplace safety programs. Prior to coming to Berea College, Mike was employed for 7 years as a Property Insurance Inspector. Additionally, Mike is the in-house trainer for Forklift Safety Compliance and is a Certified instructor for the American Red Cross in First Aid, CPR, CPR-PR, HIV/Aids education and Red Cross workplace programs. Additionally, Mike has 23 years experience as a Volunteer firefighter with Berea Volunteer Fire and Rescue and is presently Captain of the Berea Rescue Squad and is a past President of the Berea Volunteer Fireman’s Association. He is also a member of the Kentucky Speedway Fire and Safety team. Mike is currently a Kentucky Certified firefighter / EMT, Level 3 Fire Instructor and a Certified Hazardous Materials Technician.
