Biography

Leslie Kaylor, Director of Environmental Health and Safety, started with Berea College in September 2002. Leslie is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a BS Degree in Biology and a Master Degree in Public Administration. Leslie started her career with the Kentucky Department for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection as a field technician and was promoted to regional supervisor. After eight years with the State of Kentucky, Leslie accepted the position of Environmental and Safety Coordinator with the Goodyear Aerospace / Motor Wheel Corporation. Leslie has 15 years of work experience in the manufacturing sector both in technical and management positions related to environmental compliance and worker safety.

As Director of Environmental Health and Safety for Berea College, Leslie is responsible for the management of all safety and environmental department programs, services and budgets. She serves as the Chemical Hygiene Officer for all campus laboratory activities. She supervises five student labor positions responsible for maintaining the chemical inventory system and the OSHA Manager position.
