Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination
On Tuesday, November 18, 2008, economics and business administration majors heard an informative presentation on fraud and fraud examination, given by Elizabeth Woodward, Director of Litigation Support and Forensic Accounting at Dean, Dorton & Ford CPAs in Lexington, Kentucky. Her presentation, “A Look at the Use of Forensic Accounting,” included a discussion of white collar crime, a review of the impact of fraud on organizations, and the role of the accountant in prevention and deterrence of fraud. Students were challenged to consider the importance of the ethical climate of an organization. This event was sponsored by the Alfred and Shirley Wampler Caudill fund, established by Don Caudill in honor of his parents.It was coordinated by our SIFE chapter.
