Berea College’s Economics and Business program laid the foundation for my rewarding career. Through a well-structured academic program, career development support, hands-on internships, financial literacy education, and experiences as a teaching assistant and investment club leader, I gained a strong foundation in both theory and practice, along with valuable interpersonal skills. The dedicated and supportive faculty, who served as both instructors and trusted mentors, played a KaraWebb role in my growth. These experiences prepared me well for a career in management consulting, and I continue to rely on the knowledge and skills I gained every day.

Berea College’s Business and Economics program is not only practical but relevant to the demands of the 21st century workplace. More than four years after graduation, I still find myself making reference to the tools and techniques that I learned while in the program.

Due to the skills you gain while at Berea and studying business concepts, you can help to streamline processes and identify areas that could be more efficient within the roles you will take on post-graduation.

I am a Senior Energy Analyst at Competitive Energy Services, headquartered in Portland, Maine. As a consultant in the energy markets, I love keeping track of geopolitical and macroeconomic updates that can directly affect energy strategies for my clients. I graduated from Berea in 2019 with a double- major in Economics and Political Science and a minor in Math. I then earned my MS in Financial Economics at the University of Maine in 2022, where I published research on cryptocurrency markets. As a lifelong Berean, I credit my college experience for developing my leadership qualities and critical thinking skills.
