Office
Furniture and Equipment
To support the accomplishment of faculty members’ professional responsibilities, faculty offices are furnished with a desk, two or more chairs, a file cabinet, bookcase, and a computer. These items are for the use of the occupant of the office and normally are not expected to move if the occupant changes. Furniture may be moved from one office to another only with the knowledge and agreement of the department chairperson; furniture is not to be taken off-campus under any circumstances.
Desktop computers may be moved to a new location only with the consent of the department chairperson and Information Systems and Services; they may not be taken off-campus, even for a brief period, without the knowledge of the Chief Information Officer and the approval of the Dean of the Faculty. Such consent is necessary to maintain insurance coverage. Faculty members should exercise reasonable caution in caring for laptop computers as they are moved to different usage locations. It is essential that any changes to hardware configuration or network settings for either laptop or desktop computers be coordinated by the faculty member with Information Systems and Services.
