The Clinton 12
Reflections of a Segregated Past and Hopes for a Reconciled Future
January 18, 2010, 3:00 p.m.
Mr. Bobby Cain and Mrs. Gail Epps Upton were among a group of black teenagers who in the Fall of 1956 were forced to attend an all-white school in Clinton, Tennessee following Brown v. Board of Education. The Clinton 12 documentary film and their commentary will unfold their story, untold for 50 years, as well as their hopes for reconciliation. Co-sponsored with the Black Cultural Center (BCC), African and African-American Studies (AAAS), CCC, the Loyal Jones Appalachian Center (AC), and the Office of the President. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Convocation.
