including
Residence Hall Lodging
Air-conditioned residence halls are available during the months
of June and July. Conveniently located near other campus facilities,
these rooms offer low-cost lodging for groups of 20 or more. Rates
range from $15.00 for single occupancy to $30.00 for double occupancy.
For
more information on residence hall lodging, contact the Berea College Conference Services. You may also view our residence hall guidelines
below.
- Smoking
Berea College is a smoke-free campus. Therefore,
smoking is NOT allowed in the residence halls or any other Berea
College facility. Smoking is prohibited on the Berea College
campus except in designated smoking areas.
- Alcohol and Drugs
Pursuant to local ordinances and Berea
College policy, alcoholic beverages and drugs, other than prescription
medication, are not permitted in residence halls or anywhere
on the Berea College campus.
- Lost Keys and Security
There is a $5.00 charge for any lost
room key and a $20 charge for a lost front door key card. Contact
Special Programs at extension 3854 immediately to report lost
keys. After hours, contact Public Safety at extension 3333
for entry
to the Residence Hall. Outside doors to residence halls must
be locked at all times. DO NOT PROP DOORS OPEN.
- Phones
For on-campus calls, dial the extension number. Local
calls require you to dial “8” first to reach an outside
line. Long distance calls can only be made using a prepaid phone
card.
Dial “8” and
follow the instructions on the back of the card. To receive a
call in your room, have the person calling dial 859-985-your
extension
number (appears on the phone located in your room.)
- Fire
Upon arrival, familiarize yourself with all the exit
doors in the building and designate a meeting place outside
the dorm. In case of a fire, use the stairs not elevators.
Call extension
3333 immediately. Fire drills may occur during your stay, practice
them as if they were real.
- Tornado
Go to the basement or first floor of the building
and stay away from windows.
- Cooking and Heated Items
Please attend to any food that
is being prepared either on the range, in the oven, or in the
microwave to prevent the likelihood of fire or setting off
a smoke alarm
needlessly. Don’t leave curling irons, etc., plugged in
unattended.
- Damages
Participants are required to leave their rooms and
common areas reasonably clean upon their departure. Charges
will be assessed if there is any property damage.
- Contact
Participants will have a residence hall monitor
in case they have any needs during their stay. This monitor’s
number will be provided. Every dorm has a collegium member
who permanently lives there as well, so participants should
be respectful
in regards to noise.
