India, A Living Legacy

India is one of the foundational civilizations in the world. Every day in this democratic nation, over one billion people live with overwhelming cultural and linguistic diversity. It is also home to the 14th Dalai Lama and the Central Tibetan Administration.

Through travels in Northern India (including a visit to Dharamshala), careful observation, reading and written reflection, students will develop their own understanding of the political and social challenges of living in the presence of an active cultural heritage that is over five thousand years old.
