bell hooks Day

Each year, during the week of her birth, the bell hooks center hosts a campus-wide celebration of hooks’s life, love, and legacy. In addition to collaborating with campus partners to host a live band and other exciting student activities, the center coordinates teaching and professionalization opportunities for faculty and staff, inviting all Bereans to live into hooks’s lessons that “feminism is for everybody” and that “patriarchy has no gender.”
