Education Abroad Peer Advisors

Thinking about studying abroad? We offer peer advising as an essential resource for students on campus.

Peer advisors are students who have previously studied abroad and who wish to encourage other students to do the same. Peer advisors offer engaging student perspectives on the whole process, from start to finish.

Hours

Peer advisors are the first people that prospective Education Abroad participants should meet with when starting the process, or when questions arise.

They can offer perspectives, and direct you to resources, on:

  • When and where to go
  • How to get a passport
  • Using Via
  • The application itself
  • Course transfer questions
  • What paperwork to expect
  • Scholarship opportunities
  • And much more!

Advising typically runs Monday through Thursday evenings during the semester in Woods-Penn 207.. Exact hours will be posted by the first week of class each semester.

No appointment is necessary! Walk in and get your questions answered.

You can also e-mail abroad@berea.edu with questions. Keep in mind that the Education Abroad Advisor will refer you to Peer Advising as a first step when you are ready to meet in person.

And, if you have studied abroad and are passionate about helping others to do the same, we encourage you to join the team! Consider becoming a peer advisor as a secondary position once you return to campus.
