Scholars are encouraged to take leadership roles in all aspects of
the Program from recruitment to mentoring, training, budgeting, and
representing Berea College in the Bonner Scholar Congress. An effort
is made to have representation from each class on the various committees.
Student Action Committee (SAC)
The purpose of the Bonner Student Board is to empower the
student voice. This is accomplished by bridging communication in
the Bonner Community and by taking action to enrich the Bonner Scholar
Program.
Community Fund Committee
This committee reviews the requests of Bonner Scholars to
receive money from the Community Fund, a pool equaling $100
for every active Bonner Scholar per year, to be used at the
discretion of the Community Fund Committee for enhancing service
activities and benefiting the community. View guidelines.
Advisory Board
The Berea College Bonner Scholars Advisory Board meets twice
a year to review policies and to select students for the Program.
Bonner
Congress
Two Bonner Scholars will represent Berea College’s Bonner
Scholar Program at the Bonner Congress Meetings twice per year.
These representatives are selected by their class the spring of
their freshman year to serve a two-year term beginning fall of
their sophomore year and ending spring of their junior year.
