Dual Degree Engineering Adviser: J.P.

Berea College has a long-standing Dual Degree Engineering Program that includes 3-2 exchange agreements with both Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Kentucky. In this dual-degree program, students begin their college career at Berea taking three years of General Education, science, mathematics, and other course work, then transfer to one of these two institutions for two years of professional engineering education. Upon completion of both programs, students will earn two baccalaureate degrees, one from each of the two institutions they attended. Although Berea College does not have a special agreement with any other engineering school, some of Berea students have, nevertheless, successfully entered
3-2 engineering programs with other universities.
To provide students with a major program that can lead to a career in engineering through Berea’s Dual Degree Engineering Program, the College faculty approved the interdisciplinary Applied Science and Mathematics degree program. This degree program benefits students who wish to pursue a career in engineering. Students with a different major also are encouraged to participate in this program.
Berea’s Dual Degree Engineering Adviser will serve as the student’s primary adviser for this interdisciplinary major.
