Resources

At the Career Development Office you will find a library full of books to help you find an internship or a job in any area of study in the United States and abroad, as well as information on graduate schools. Most of the books you can check-out for a couple of days to give you more time to narrow down your research.

Videos are offered in the office. The different types of videos include:

  • Self-Assessment
  • Organizing Job Search
  • Job Fair Tips
  • résumé Tips
  • Interview Tips
  • Interview Information for disabled and minority candidates
  • Business Etiquette
  • Evaluate Your Job
  • Career Videos
  • Company Videos

A CD-ROM Mock Interview Program is accessible as well to help you practice for future interviews.

Finally, self-assessment tools will also serve you as a resource for finding out your skills and interests. They will also help you become more familiar with yourself. Knowing your likes, dislikes, strengths, and weaknesses is the first step to choosing the right career and future job. We offer the following:

1. Personality Profile ("Do What You Are") identifies your strengths and weaknesses and matches your personality to career fields.
2. Strong Campbell identifies your skills and interests and advises positions that you should pursue, develop, or avoid.
3. SIGI matches your skills, interests, and values to career fields. Sigi also provides very valuable position descriptions that are extremely helpful in your internship and job searches.
