About the Department

It’s your life. What do you want to do with it? The “real world” is only moments away, so you need to be prepared. And you thought choosing your major was tough! We are the Office of Career Development at Berea College, and we’re here to help.

Are you wondering where you start? First you need to find out WHO you are… You’re probably asking, “How do I do that?” We offer tests that help identify your strengths, weaknesses, interests and skills. Once you’ve taken these tests, you need to decide WHAT to do. Based on your strengths, weaknesses, skills, interests, and values, we can help you in the direction of your major of choice.

WHEN is the best time to take care of this? That decision is entirely up to you. We recommend as soon as possible. The sooner you decide on your life path, the sooner you can get walking. This means you’ll be ahead of the game for goals, internships, and even future careers.

WHERE is Career Development? We are located in the lower level of Fairchild Hall in Room 8. Our office hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Feel free to stop by at your convenience, or make an appointment with Mary Lamb, Coordinator of Career Development.

WHY should you care? Because you have dreams, ambitions, goals, and most importantly, a drive to succeed. It’s up to you to make the most of it.
