The Coalition For Community Building
 
Coalition Mission Statement:
  • • The Coalition is a group of faculty, staff, and students charged with providing opportunities for student clubs, organizations, and residence halls which request assistance with planning campus educational, cultural, recreational and social events.
  • The Coalition provides funds for collaborative, community building programs which are focused on educational, cultural, and first-year student adjustment.
  • • The Coalition provides a hub of campus programming, a collaborative group facilitating and designing programs to benefit campus life. The Coalition may generate campus programming, especially educational and cultural offerings, in addition to receiving program proposals from student groups.
  • The Coalition is a team of people, a blend of different campus organizations, building upon our relationship with each other in a collaborative approach to improve our campus culture.
  • Coalition does not however supply funds for fundraisers.

Guidelines for Submitting Proposals to the Coalition:

  • Must be a College recognized student club, organization, or residence hall.
  • Proposal form should be received two weeks before the event, Evaluation form within two weeks after the event. Both of these forms should be turned in to the Campus Life office in the Alumni Building by Friday of each week, to be considered the following Coalition session.The Coalition meets on Tuesday 12:00 -1:00 in Stammer Room located in the Alumni Building.
  • Purpose of the event must be a community building activity, planned collaboratively by an organization or several groups.
  • Student representative(S) must meet with the Coalition, for both Proposal and Evaluation reviews and advising.
  • Event should fit into the College master calendar, which may be reviewed at the Campus Life office, which serves as a “one-stop shopping” site for student organizations: master calendar, campus events listing, Artist banners/posters, Crossroads Complex room reservations and Motor Pool forms.

Updated Coalition Information

  • It is the responsibility of the organization to schedule the Evaluation meeting with Coalition. If you do not schedule a meeting by the 2 week time span after the program, there will be a probation period to receive funds from Coalition. This period will be decided on by the Coalition committee.
  • All receipts must be brought to the Evaluation meeting. It will no longer be the responsibility of Coalition to ask for receipts.
  • If your organization misses the scheduled Coalition meeting it is your responsibility to reschedule the meeting. If there is no notification, Coalition will assume that you no longer need funds for your program.

Fundraising:

  • Coalition does not sponsor fundraisers.

Forms
