| The
Student Chaplain program has been designed to provide the primary
link between the Campus Christian Center and Berea students. As
a primary labor position, the Student Chaplain is fully integrated
into the student staff of residence halls. This integeration supports
the principals of guided-learning and the goal of having a Christian
influence more central throughout the campus. Student Chaplains
are an integral part of Berea College's commitment to the Christian
faith.
Student chaplains help facilitate the process of turning our
residence halls into environments where students can learn and
grow spiritually, socially, and intellectually. Student Chaplains
work alongside other staff members to help create healthy learning/living
halls.
This program provides the Student Chaplain with opportunities
for growth in the area of Christian leadership, including counseling,
programming, and religious education. As a member of the residence
hall staff, the Student Chaplain works closely with the staff
and residents in their halls, in cooperation with student chaplains
in other halls, and with the entire campus community. Student
Chaplains offer pastoral ministiry to students and provide leadership
through service, example, and intentional ministries.
