- To improve participants' understanding of communication,
its relation to learning, and students' needs in learning, writing,
reading, speaking, and listening.
- To help participants invent ways of
fostering good communication and learning practices in classes,
residence halls, workplaces, and campus activities.
- To provide a continuing structure that encourages faculty
connections beyond department boundaries, rendering education
a truly collaborative enterprise.
- To enable participants to engage in fundamental
and ongoing reexaminations of their educational goals and
approaches and to support the changes that result.
- To build a base of expertise and activity in communication
and learning that can serve the whole College.
