  • Shared investigations of learning and communication
    (i.e. students' test-taking strategies; causes of communication
    apprehension; developmental learning stages; barriers to learning
    in science and math; students' writing development; internet and writing).
  • Innovative teaching approaches (i.e. journal writing in art and science
    classes and among residence hall staffs; contract grading; team projects
    and other collaborative assignments, including Guided Design ; a listening
    course; portfolio evaluation; student organization/labor staff retreats).
  • Networking and partnerships among faculty and programs (i.e.
    team-teaching in Short Term; departmental alumni councils).
  • Local and national publications and presentations (i.e. a manual on
    conducting a meeting; a student leadership workshop; workshops on
    listening for Development and Business Offices; presentations to Trustees
    and to faculty (Inside Teaching series); presentations at national conferences
    on general studies, communication, portfolio evaluation, collaborative learning,
    art education, animal science).
