All the News…

Creating one of the world’s greenest residence halls is big news. As a LEED Platinum-plus building, that means designing a residential space for students as a “living/learning laboratory” of sustainability. This newest building on campus is optimized for energy efficiency, inside and out, to minimize waste and achieve a light carbon footprint. And it celebrates Appalachian arts and crafts, with locally-harvested wood fashioned into furniture as well as sculpture, weavings and other student works featured throughout.

NewsTelling the story of the new deep green residence hall begins with our Media coverage, including a complete round-up of news stories, features and video – along with updated press materials and fact sheets on the project. Reports & Publications offer added background and project specifics, from concept through construction, as well as LEED data, presentations and sustainability at Berea College. In the future, we’ll connect you to more resources on green building and sustainable campus life, frequently asked questions, and more.

You can also stay up-to-date on the project’s progress and this unfolding story via our Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube and SlideShare pages.
