Erik Reece Speaks About His Own Spiritual Odyssey

Author Eric Reece to Speak on Mountaintop RemovalAcclaimed author Erik Reece will talk on February 22 at 11:45 a.m. during Dinner on the Grounds at Berea College’s Appalachian Center. Reece is the author of “Lost Mountain,” that examines a year in the death of a mountain due to mountain top removal. He is writer in residence at University of Kentucky.

His most recent book is An American Gospel, which is part family metaphor and part exploration of America's spiritual and intellectual history. He has received numerous awards, including the Sierra Club's David R. Brower Award and Columbia University's John B. Oakes Award for Environmental Writing. His work has appeared in True/Slant, Harper's, Orion, The Nation, Oxford American, and newspapers around the country
