Biography
Terence Brooks will begin his third season as head women’s basketball coach at Berea College. In his first year at the helm of the Lady Mountaineers basketball program, they posted an 11-19 overall record and 8-5 mark in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Lady Mountaineers finished 2nd in the KIAC regular season standings and advanced to the KIAC Tournament semi-finals. After two seasons as a NAIA Division II head coach, Brooks’ career record is 14-46.
Brooks came to Berea College from Paris High School in Paris, Ky. where he was the head girl’s basketball coach from 2003-09. His teams compiled a record of 105-71 in his six seasons at Paris High School. Brooks led the Ladyhounds to six straight “All A” regional tournament championships, including an appearance in the state championship game in 2008.
Prior to his tenure at Paris High School, Brooks was an assistant coach for the women’s basketball team for a year at Murray State University, where he earned a bachelor’ degree in physical education. Brooks also played at Murray State University for two seasons after transferring from Lees Junior College in Jackson, Ky. He ranks sixth in career three-point percentage at Murray State University.
Brooks resides in Paris, Ky and has three beautiful daughters, Gabrielle (22), Jordaun (20), Allyah (13), and a granddaughter, Miyah Bri’elle Knowles.
