Seabury Center to Host 2012 KIAC Basketball Final Four
The Seabury Center at Berea College has been selected as the site for the 2012 KIAC Basketball Final Four. Opening round games for the tournament will be played at the home of the higher seed, with the final four teams remaining on the women’s side and the men’s side descending upon Berea next Monday and Tuesday. Day tickets will be $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for students 13-17 and children 12 and under will be admitted free of charge.
In conjunction with the tournament, Berea College Athletics is pleased to announce a partnership with the Save the Children Foster Grandparent Program. Throughout the KIAC men’s and women’s semi-final and championship games on Monday, February 27th and Tuesday, February 28th, staff from Save the Children will conduct a 50/50 raffle. A donation box will also be set up at the main ticket table for the tournament. Any donations and funds received will benefit the program’s tutoring and literacy training initiatives, as well as purchasing hearing aids and other necessary supplies for the foster grandparents.
The Foster Grandparent Program offers seniors age 55 and older opportunities to serve as mentors and tutors for children at risk academically. For more information about Save the Children and their program services, please visit: www.savethechildren.org
