Trustees Meet and Approve 2008 Grants

The advisory board trustees of the Berea College Appalachian Fund met in Berea, KY on November 27, 2007 to review 2008 Grant Applications and discuss other Appalachian Fund business.  The trustees approved $528,500 in grants to thirty five different non-profit organizations in Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia. Twenty three Appalachian Fund Affiliates received $367,000, 79% of the total grants funding. First time grantees included the Kentucky Environmental Foundation of Berea, KY and Rural Resources of Greeneville, TN. The date of the 2008 Affiliates Gathering was set for May 1-2 at Berea College.
