Dear Class of 1989,
Greetings from the great state of South Carolina – my “new” home for 19 years. Much like you, I have been consumed with building a family and career. Due to this, it has been an easy decision to miss many of the Homecoming events over the years.
Our 20 year Class Reunion presents a unique opportunity to reconnect with a place and people who certainly had an influence on our lives. I would expect the following:
- Great attendance -- it’s been 20 years!!
- Connecting with good friends and sharing stories (new and old)
- Giving our spouses and kids a glimpse of our history
- A fun road trip
- Free Breakfast, BereaFEST, and a Mountaineer game!
I sure hope you give this reunion some real consideration. There are a lot of people who would enjoy seeing you.
Homecoming Weekend is Novebember 13-15. The schedule of events and other helpful information like a lodging list can be found at the Alumni website http://www.berea.edu/alumni/homecoming/default.asp I have already registered. Please get registered as soon as possible. Your attendance may spur one of our other classmates to attend.
BereaFEST will be held from 11:30-1:30pm Saturday, on the front lawn of the Alumni Building, where George used to hang out. This sounds like a fun filled event for families. There will be a concert by the Black Music Ensemble immediately following BereaFEST at Union Church across the street. And don’t forget the Basketball games Saturday night (5:30pm Women’s start / 7:30pm Men’s start).
Did I mention the great Breakfast’s put on by the Ag Union (Ag Bldg) and Technology Club (Danforth Technology Bldg)? Dr. Hudson would have my head if I didn’t plug the Technology Breakfast. You got two plugs in this letter Doc!
I’m expecting you to show up or give me a very good reason why you cannot. I will be watching the Registration list and rattling some cages – I appreciate those of you who will help me with this.
I look forward to seeing you. Please don’t look for the guy pictured on my registration – it’s not me anymore.
Sincerely,
Tim Thiessen
