Carl Thomas

I am originally from Birmingham, Alabama and a 1978 graduate of Berea College. I had such a wonderful experience as a college student at Berea that I decided to work here after graduating.

I have devoted my career to helping prospective students find the college that will best prepare them for what they want to accomplish in life.

When I arrived on the Berea College campus as a freshman, I knew this was the place where I needed to be for my undergraduate studies. The faculty challenged me to perform at my highest level and provided me with the support that I needed to become a successful college student. It is my hope to help you find a similar college experience.

In addition to my duties as an admissions counselor, I also coordinate our diversity recruitment. One of the initiatives of Minority Services Team is to sponsor the “Carter G. Woodson Open House”. This annual event, held on campus the third weekend in February, is an opportunity for minority students to learn first-hand about diversity at Berea.
