Short Term, January 5-30, 2009

Sept. 25

Deadline to propose an Independent Study or Team Initiated Study for Short Term 2009.

Oct. 1

Deadline for application for New Horizons international-travel grants. This deadline applies to all Short Term projects and courses involving international travel.

Students should apply for aid by this deadline even if the project has not yet been approved.

Funds will be awarded upon documentation of approval.

Nov. 7

Deadline for Internship proposals for Short Term 2009

Nov. 10

Deadline for application for financial aid (institutional loans and Discovery Fund domestic-travel grants). This deadline applies to all Short Term 2009 projects and courses involving domestic and international travel (except for the New Horizon travel grants that are due Oct. 1), Exchange Programs with other colleges, Internships, Independent Studies, Team Initiated Studies, etc.

Students should apply for aid by this deadline even if the project has not yet been approved. Funds will be awarded upon documentation of approval.

Nov. 10-19

Registration period for Short Term and Spring Term 2009.
Registration takes place on BONd.*

Nov. 19

Last day for continuing students to register for Short Term. It is assumed by the College that students who have not registered by 12 midnight on this date do not intend to be enrolled during Short Term.

Nov. 24

Application deadline for Exchange students wishing to attend Short Term 2009.

Dec. 12

Deadline to submit a new Labor Status Form to the Student Payroll Office if the student’s regular labor assignment is unavailable during Short Term. Such students are responsible for securing another position for that time period.

Jan. 5

Last day to change a course for Short Term 2009.

Jan. 15

Deadline to submit a proposal for a Spring Term Independent or Team Initiated Study

Jan. 16

Deadline to submit an Internship proposal for Spring Term

Jan. 19

Martin Luther King Jr. Day (classes canceled)

Jan. 30

Last day to withdraw from the College without a final grade being recorded.

Students who withdraw must reapply for admission to the College. Please be aware that readmission is very competitive and that successful applicants for readmission almost always leave Berea in good academic standing.
