Early Feedback Program

The Early Feedback Program is intended to provide feedback and assessment in a timely and comprehensive manner for first-year students, allowing the student ample opportunity to make corrective actions, if needed.

At the end of the third week of the first term, instructors of courses with first-year students provide feedback for each first-year student in his or her courses on three general areas regarding attendance, responsiveness to assignments, and the general quality of work. Instructors also will be given the opportunity to make any optional comments that might be helpful.

This information is then disseminated to the students’ advisers for use in advising meetings to provide affirmation or guidance regarding early engagement. Students succeeding in some or all aspects of their courses will be able to celebrate this work well done with their advisers and use these positive lessons in their other courses. If students need to improve in some areas, they will be able to work with their Adviser to make changes.
