Service-Learning Course Expo a Success
Dec. 3, 2010 - 12:00 p.m.
By Sheila Lyons
Students, faculty, and community partners from nine courses presented about their Fall 2010 service-learning courses and projects on December 1, 2010. Displays included digital stories, powerpoint presentations, posters, a theatrical performance, videos, woodworking products, and opportunities to hear from students describing their work.
Each course represented a different academic program, so with course cross-listings considered, twelve academic programs were represented. The Student Service-Learning Team counted over 135 people (students, faculty, staff and community partners) in attendance. One of our favorite moments was overhearing a student say to a classmate, “ I thought this was going to be boring – but this is fun!”
