The 36th annual Celebration of Traditional Music

The 36th annual Celebration of Traditional Music took place on Berea College’s campus from October 15-19th. The event, which is organized by the Loyal Jones Appalachian Center, had a great turnout, and was a great success. To start off the weekend of fun and great music, Don Pedi gave workshops on the dulcimer.  On Friday, Loyal Jones gave a compelling and funny Symposium in the Appalachian Center Gallery.

On Saturday, there was an afternoon concert and dance. On Saturday night, the Celebration concluded with a concert of the musicians from the weekend. The performers for the weekend were White Top Mountain Band, Sparky and Rhonda Rucker, Don Pedi, John Haywood, and the Berea College Bluegrass Ensemble.
