Bereans for Appalachia Music Series: Anna Roberts-Gevalt & Elizabeth LaPrelle "Snow is on the Ground"

Appalachian Center Gallery

Bereans for Appalacha is sponsoring a collaboration by southwest Virginia musicians, Elizabeth LaPrelle and Anna Roberts-Gevalt, “Snow Is On The Ground” weaves traditional music with storytelling and theatrical elements including marionettes, shadow-puppets, woodcuts, collage, and sewn scrolls called “crankies.” The performance centers on the theme of winter in Appalachia—stories of the cold weather today & in times gone by and those songs, stories and good cheer that help us survive the chill. LaPrelle is an acclaimed ballad singer and banjo player; Roberts-Gevalt is a Giles County fiddler, banjo player and guitarist.
