| Consortium
of Agriculture Programs at Independent Colleges and Universities
The Consortium was formed to promote:
- The principles of a general agriculture program.
- The awareness of the needs of society.
- The understanding of the relationship between humanity and
the land.
The group has focused primarily on two areas:
- Curriculum development.
- Faculty and student enrichment.
Current Activities
Faculty representatives from member institutions
meet annually at one of the ten campuses. Joint projects have included
field trips and semester exchanges to take advantage of particular
strengths of one school. Plans are underway to initiate joint undergraduate
research projects and have students participate in the annual meetings.
Consortium Statistics
- The collective agriculture enrollment of these schools is
1,300 to 1,400 undergraduates.
- Graduates from these programs enter a wide variety of careers
including graduate school, education, agribusiness, farming and
